Travel the globe with fellow students and a professor for three weeks, while taking a college composition course and living out the gospel in community service. You’ll earn credit and prepare for your college application essay while traveling the world.

Traveling
Students will travel internationally for three weeks, each week in a new unique country. This year our trip will take us to China, Cambodia, and
Thailand. Two days prior to departure will be spent on Concordia University, Irvine campus where students will prepare for the trip.
Accommodations
All logistics will be taken care of by our experienced leadership team. Lodging may include hotels, hostels, bungalows, churches and dormitories.
Service Projects
In each country, students participate in volunteer service projects which may include teaching English, community development, Vacation Bible School, and more. For these projects, we partner with local churches, mission programs, charity organizations, and in-country NGOs (Non-governmental organizations). Volunteer hours can be applied to your school’s service hour requirement.
Cost: $6,950
The cost of the trip is all inclusive - 3 units of transferable college credit, flights, housing, food, transportation, visas, and travel insurance. Students will only be asked to provide their passports and gear.

Leadership
The ATW-U program is unique because you will travel and study with a full-time faculty member from Concordia University Irvine. Additional
leadership and guidance will be provided by graduate assistants who have experienced Concordia’s Around-the-World Semester® adventure.

Rolling Admission
All rising high school seniors are encouraged to apply. The program will also consider high school graduates. Students must be mature, culturally sensitive, selfdisciplined, self-motivated, and able to adapt to new situations. A letter of recommendation from a pastor and a character reference and statement of faith will be required with the application. Up to 30 students will be selected to participate per trip.
Course Credits
Students will receive a total of 3 units of transferable credit.
WRT 102: Writing and Research 3 units
This travel writing course is specially tailored to help you write your college application essay utilizing the unique experiences you gained traveling and serving abroad.
