Around-the-World: USA - The Great American Road Trip
48 States   22 Students   18 books   5 Months   One America

The Around-the-World: USA (ATW:USA) semester program is a physical and intellectual exploration of all 48 states in the continental United States. Discover the vibrant beauty and rich diversity of America on this five-month faculty-guided journey. Dive into the literature, history, and ideas that shaped the culture of our great nation all while exploring its vast natural wonders, metropolitan cities, and the heartland in-between.

Guided by Concordia faculty from five different disciplines, students will journey through a selection of texts influential to the formation of American culture. Over the course of the semester students will create and document their own observations as they gain new insights about the many cultures and people groups that make up the United States. Along the way students will have the opportunity to serve with and learn from communities, churches, and key leaders around the country. By completing the program, participants earn a minor in American Humanities.
